Old Sawmills ‘n Golf..

The Inland Lumber Producers 30th Annual Golf Tournament is July 17-20 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The tournament is being held on the shores of beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene, on a site that was once home to an old sawmill from 1916 to 1987. The golf course is best known for its movable floating green on the signature 14th hole. A video below tells the wonderful story of how a “perfectly round” log boom inspired one man’s wild idea – and reality in 1991 in the form of the most expensive golf green in the world.
Good luck to Brett Johnson here at Dakeryn, who will be aiming to reach the green at the tourney, and avoid contributing to the estimated 20 to 30,000 golf balls retrieved from the bottom of the lake each year. Fore!
