As Canada Day weekend offered up celebration and sunshine locally, the horrific news of the 19 elite firefighters killed battling Arizona wildfire is a stark reminder of the dangers associated with fighting fires in the woods. While the Forest Fire Danger Ratings in most areas of B.C. are still rated moderate to low, a period of drier weather can be expected to raise concerns and notice for taking extra precaution in the woods. Presently there are no wildfires reported in the province.
