“Part of the recent boost in futures prices came from funds and speculators closing out bets that prices would fall, amid holiday-thinned trade.  The market also got good news from housing data earlier in the month.  U.S. home construction surged to the highest level in 19 months during November and issuance of building permits increased.  Traders are hoping to see more favorable figures for December.  Analysts said light snowfall and moderate temperatures for late in the year in many parts of the country have allowed building sites to continue work.”  Milder Weather Boosts Lumber
