When the village of Yarrow, BC was established in 1928 (where my grandparents resettled from the prairies in 1939), the wood for this house and three others was ordered from a catalogue. The boxcar was shipped by the BC Electric Railway and spotted near the Yarrow Station on Wilson Road. The lumber arrived “mixed up,” loose loaded – and took several trips by horses and wagons to get the right pieces to the right place… probably supplied by a full-service lumber wholesaler?!
