My dad took my younger brother and me along on a Northern BC sawmill trip in the mid 70’s. We must have driven over 2000 miles roundtrip (or so it seemed?), and listened to our Neil Diamond cassette almost as many times along the way! Departing from Vancouver, Matt and I felt pretty important checking into hotels in Williams Lake and Prince George “on business.” From Fort St. James, we even made it as far as a cabin on Francois Lake, taking downtime to troll for rainbows between mill visits. Memories from this trip trump anything Disneyland could ever offer!
